...If you own a dog you're a dog trainer...

Living with a dog can sometimes be challenging, be that a dog you have picked as a puppy or an older dog that may have come from a rescue centre. These challenges can come from a number of different reasons and manifest themselves in difficult sometimes confusing and quite often unwanted or unacceptable behaviours.

This can cause what was a good relationship with your dog to start to break down, which in turn becomes stressful for the dog and the whole family unit alike and attempts to fix it can quite often make the situation worse, or lead to other issues surfacing.

The Dog Comes First

At Blackfordash Dogs we have spent many years developing our training skills . Jason has studied under some of the best names in the industry which has given him a wealth of knowledge enabling dogs to live better, happier and more fulfilled lives because we truly believe that a well trained dog is a happier dog.

Over the years we have helped numerous people to overcome problems and difficulties. So if you are struggling with your relationship, be that your dog is fearful, aggressive, reactive or just "not really trained how we would like them" or you are looking to develop your own training skills to improve your dogs general obedience, get in touch and we can have a chat.

First consultation is free and it could be one of the best decisions you make for your dog.

Assessment

Starting with an initial telephone conversation where the aim is to understand as much as possible about you, your dog and the situation and circumstances surrounding the training need. At this stage any videos you have showing  the issues can be very helpful. Once these have been watched and all the information evaluated we can then arrange a time and date for your assessment. Depending on the factors involved this could be at our facility or your home or very occassionally on the telephone.

Our assessments are usually between 1 and 2 hours and focus on the dynamics that exist between you and your dog by getting you both to perform a number of exercises together to gain a full understanding of the issues.  At this stage we will be able to discuss with you and recommend some IMMEDIATE strategies to start creating change in your dog.

............THIS ASSESSMENT IS ALL FREE OF CHARGE............

Recommendations

It is our hope that during the asessment we will be able provide you with some foundational training to take away with you. These IMMEDIATE strategies will help you to start making the change happen.

Sometimes the problems are quite wide ranging and you may need some EXTRA help for any one of a  number of reasons. If you feel that more help is needed after your initial assessment then we can offer "Private Lessons", learning better training skills for yourself, or having your dog stay with me for an extended "Board and Train". We can discuss how it would work and which maybe the best solution for you and your dog.

Private Lessons.  £250.00 per session which lasts for a minimum of 2 hours.

Board and Train. Are for a minimum of 2 weeks and cost £750.00 per week.

Implementation

We do not offer "cookie cutter" solutions. Each dog is different, each home is different and each family is different, each problem has different root causes and it is these differences that are so important in defining and implementing a training solution that will bring results.

But please rest assured whatever solutions that we recomment we will fully explain to you how and why we have suggested this methodology and how they will be used. In addition we will always make sure you are trained to competently use these new techniques.

Monitoring

At the end of our "Board and Train" programs you will receive a custom training journal that takes you through the day by day training we have done, and with videos of the key areas and skills your dog has been trained in. This gives you a clear understanding of the new  learning that you must also master in order to keep the new relationship between you and your dog growing and flourishing.

Being the dogs "Master" is outdated thinking.

I believe in working to create a "Team" between the dog and their owner. This has proven time and again to be the best solution to develop the relationship that brings out the best in the dog and the owner and creates the well behaved dog that we all wish for.

Even when the training is over we are still there to support you, we are just a phone call away.

But a word of warning  .....there are no quick fixes or short cuts to creating the dog you want......if you think you can send your dog off for training and when they come back it is JOB DONE ..... then you will be sorely disappointed. This relationship, like any valuable relationship, needs work to maintain it.
